Summer with the Psalms

Thursday 6th June 2024

“O Lord, don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage. Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord, until you restore me? Return, O Lord, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love. For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise you from the grave? I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. Go away, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer. May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame.”

Pastor Tim’s Reflection

Jesus said “So he is the God of the living, not the dead. You have made a serious error.””

‭‭Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

For God can be Praised from the position of Grace, not the Grave! Yes, His Grace! He can only be Praised by the Living, not the Dead! Yes the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is alive today and wants to heal you. To make you whole and to provide you with a way back to Him.

It is so easy to be consumed by our world, by worry and to become weary. Instead let’s fight the good fight. Let’s run the Race for Gods Glory and let’s become more like Jesus, by following his teachings, reading the Gospels and Praying the Psalms.

Today, and everyday, we have the opportunity to offer Gods Love to those who desire it and to those who seek God First. So let’s retire from seeking to be champions of the universe and let’s return back to the God of this universe who is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth!

Prayer

Father God Receive us again today. We are tired, desperate and burnt out in this crazy world and life we now live. Help us to become more aware of you and obedient to who you are. Help us to follow your Holy Spirit, to believe in you and to be raised to life to Praise you in everything we do now and this side of eternity in Jesus name. Amen
