Summer with the Psalms
Monday June 3rd 2024
“O Lord, I have so many enemies; so many are against me. So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy mountain. I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people.”

Pastor Tim’s Reflection
The difficulty of a Rescue Plan is that you have to accept that you need rescuing! Often times when we cry out to God in desperation, selfish ambition or in times of community needs life may seem to not be going our way.
Yet, to be truly saved, to be whole heartedly sold out for Jesus and follow him, without distraction, we have to abandon the idea that we have an influence over the universe and that means that we are not bigger than God himself. That’s right! In order to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we have to give him the keys back to the Universe!
If we keep holding onto our own ideals, our own desires and do not surrender ourself to him then He may well struggle to save us. We have to be available. As God looks to rescue us from Sin and Death, from our Secular World and from Ourselves we need to submit to him and accepts his rescue first before anything else.
Let’s not be confused about who God is, but let’s be more honest about who we are in relationship to trusting God and surrender our own will as champions of all things in our own lives. God made the heavens and the earth, He is the Crestor of the Universe and all Humanity! He wants to rescue us Today. We just need to simply accept its God’s victory, not ours, and let Jesus take control of our world and every one else who is in it! Simply, we can Love God and Love People by allowing God to be God and for Gods people to be Gods people, not ours! Hallelujah! We must thank God that Jesus is in control and speaking to our Father on our behalf; interceding, redirecting and leading us back to Himself. Thank you Jesus!
Reflective Prayer
Father God we thank you that you hold the Keys to Hades, that you have defeated the grave, that you are are the King of Kings, the Lord or Lords and the Great I am! Help us today O Lord to follow you, to love you, to surrender to you and accept your Love in our Lives Today! Thank you Jesus, in your name, in Jesus name do we pray! Amen!
