Ecclesiastes 5 Reflections

“Do not be hasty with your mouth [speaking careless words or vows] or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter before God. For God is in heaven and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.”

Ecclesiastes 5:2 Amp

Reflections

We must guard our hearts and minds as we get closer to the election. What comes out of our mouths must clean, without blemish and hypocrisy. If we truly are to see the Kingdom of God on Earth we must believe who is the author of it. We must truly believe who is the author, creator and sovereign over all things.

“Do not allow your speech to cause you to sin, and do not say before the messenger (priest) of God that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry because of your voice (words) and destroy the work of your hands? [Mal 2:7] For in a multitude of dreams and in a flood of words there is worthlessness. Rather [reverently] fear God [and worship Him with awe-filled respect, knowing who He is].”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Governments, political leaders and elections shall pass. This indeed too shall pass. The process of grieving the loss of your elected official not winning office should not define who is your God. Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour so do not be confused, God can not be mocked and you must not misplace your trust in man.

“If you see the oppression of the poor and the denial of justice and righteousness in the province, do not be shocked at the sight [of corruption]; for a higher official watches over another official, and there are higher ones over them [looking out for one another]. After all, a king who cultivates the field is an advantage to the land.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As we get closer to November 5th be active in fasting, be active in praying and be active in canvassing for Jesus Christ. We must be bringing the Kingdom of God closer to earth and not be distracted by the noise and elevated importance of an election. Pick up your Cross and follow Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

Let us Pray!

Father God we thank you thank you that you are Sovereign and in control. Be with us in all we do and help us to be prepared for what is coming even if it is unexpected, even if it is not what we foresaw and even if it is not what our human flesh desires. We thank you for your grace, your justice and your mercy in Jesus name. Amen
