Psalm & Reflection
This last weekend we saw the beginning of the Fall, or Autumn, season. It is the time for Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Pumpkin Soup and Pumpkin pie! The seasons are changing, the weather is raging and the name
of the Lord is to be praised on High!
We may face some reluctance, adversity or indifference during seasonal change. We often as humans can be reluctant to adapt new approaches to cooler weather and we must be receptive to what God is doing in the midst of a new beginning. God did it in the past, he did it at Dawn and he did at Dusk. Wherever you may experience turbulence in the change cling to what is good and seek his help first.
“Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.”
Psalms 125:1 NLT
We must not grow weary in doing good and we must be receptive to what God is saying to us in the changes of the seasons. The opportunity for God to speak can be missed if we are not quick to listen and slow to speak. We must not become angered by the change and instead be sensitive to how we can respond, how we can learn and we can grow closer to God in the new season
“They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.”
Psalms 126:6 NLT
We must now keep entering into this season rejoicing even though we may cry, we can praise and honor him in preparation. As Gods word teaches us crying only lasts in the evening and joy comes in the morning. We can rejoice in planting, harvesting and preparing for the Spring season. We must do this as Gods Church, as the Bride of Christ and as the Ambassadors of Jesus Christ that we have been called to be.
We can be harvesting as we are discipling others, we can be harvesting as we are praying for others and we can be harvesting as we are preparing ourselves for the Lords coming again.
Let us Pray…
Father God we need you in this Harvest season help us to gather crops that can grow, seeds that we can plant and people we can meet whom we get to share your love with. Help us to be your hands and feet in all we do in Jesus name. Amen
“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:26 NLT
