Free & Fit Advent Challenge Day 18- Proverbial Prayers & Planks - Advent Devotions from Proverbs with a Word, Proverb & Exercise Everyday - Wednesday 18th December 2024
Today’s word for December 18th is:**Forgive** we must seek to Forgive others and love our Neighbour as ourselves through releasing ownership over them, and releasing them back to God. In the Lord’s Prayer it helps us:
“It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.”
1.Jesus would retreat and get alone to pray. He would separate Himself from the crowds.
Hebrews 5:7 (CSB)
“During his earthly life, he offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.”
“He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘ Father, hallowed be Your name.”
2. We pray to Our Father in Heaven, we all share one Heavenly Father.
Romans 8:15 (CSB)
“You did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father! ”
Matthew 6:9 (CSB)
“Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy.”
“Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. “
3. Bringing Heaven on Earth. As Co-heirs with Christ in His Resurrection into Eternity with God
“You are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” Galatians. (4:7)
Isaiah 33:16 (CSB)
“he will dwell on the heights; his refuge will be the rocky fortresses, his food provided, his water assured.”
Proverbs 30:8 (CSB)
“Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor wealth; feed me with the food I need.”
“And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us [who has offended or wronged us]. And lead us not into temptation [but rescue us from evil]. ”
4. Forgiveness we are petitioning for we forgive others and Seek to Flea from Temptation
In the Lord’s Prayer it helps us. In Gods Forgiveness we are petitioning for it as we forgive others and we Seek to Flea from Temptation
Psalm 25:11,18 (CSB)
“LORD, for the sake of your name, forgive my iniquity, for it is immense. Consider my affliction and trouble, and forgive all my sins.”
Psalm 130:3,4 (CSB)
“LORD, if you kept an account of iniquities, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that you may be revered.”
Daniel 9:19 (CSB)
“Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and act! My God, for your own sake, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your name.”
“For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen”
Today’s Proverb and Verse is Proverbs Eighteen verse One it says “An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends and against all sound judgment starts quarrels."
In the Amplified it states as follows: “He who [willfully] separates himself [from God and man] seeks his own desire, He quarrels against all sound wisdom.”
Proverbs 18:1 AMP

Reflection & Prayer:
St Paul invites us to qualify this through a series of questions which we may identify as things which are Praise worthy when he addresses the Church in Philippi.
Paul says this: “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].”
(Philippians 4:8 AMP)
We are reminded again in Psalm 100 to give Praise: “For the Lord is good; His mercy and lovingkindness are everlasting, His faithfulness [endures] to all generations.”
So, if anything is worthy of Praise, lets be giving thanks to the Lord daily demonstrating our gratitude, giving our time and first thanksgiving to the Lord in prayers and petitions daily and devoutly in Jesus name. Amen
Let us Pray as we contemplate these things:
Lord Jesus we thank you for the Cross, for your Sacrifice and Promises from Heaven. Help us each and everyday to always give our thanks and supplications to you always, now and forever in Jesus name. Amen
Christ died for us so that we may have eternal life. It is the priceless gift which exists in the present, but is outside of time. As our Father in Heaven looks down upon us this day he sees our mere humanity, sent his one and only begotten son to save us and save us again.
Through time, past, present and future Jesus is able to demonstrate his omnipresence to us and to develop a continuous resurrected power that is alive to each and everyone of us. The same power that rose Christ from the grave is available, alive and accessible to each and everyone of us today. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus Christ is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever! He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
Today you and can make a new start. A fresh start. Its simple; if you believe in your heart that Jesus died, was resurrected and sacrificed for all believers, like you and me, you can have hope for the future. Many people have said a prayer like this throughout time and history. This prayer was for them and this prayer is also for you. You can say it silently in your heart, aloud after me or just agree by acknowledging in mind or word by declaring in agreement with me by saying “in Jesus name. Amen.”
Closing Prayer. Let us Pray…
Sacrificial and Gracious Jesus, bring us out of the depths of our flesh, restore our consciousness and release us into divine communion and intimate fellowship with your Holy Spirit as we pray in agreement that you died, raised us with you into eternal life and prepared a mansion for us with God in heaven. In your name we pray. Amen.
“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
