Free & Fit Advent Challenge Day 28 - Proverbial Prayers & Planks - Advent Devotions from Proverbs with a Word, Proverb & Exercise Everyday - Saturday December 28th 2024

Dec 28: Trust - Have you seen God? Have you heard God? Do you know God? Throughout scripture, especially in the Old Testament, if we were to encounter the living God it would not be through site. Some part of the OT referenced the site of God to the High Priest only being permissible as seeing the Living God (the Father). Perhaps in the New Testament it was easier when the Disciple heard God through the words of Jesus (God the Son) or known as God by the Savior of the World or in today’s message as Immanuel. God with us.

To truly know God we must trust God and receive the Holy Spirit through justice and mercy, through Gods truth and peace of the Gospel with which we have open access through the revelation and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This Christmas let us not just wish to see or hear  acts of God, but to truly know God and to be fully known by him. Let’s run the race marked out before us with joy and perseverance to run a race that will lead to the Victors Crown of Jesus Christ overcoming death and setting us free! Hallelujah! In Jesus name. Amen

Our Proverb for today is Proverbs Twenty Eight verse One it says “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion."

In the Amplified it says ““The wicked flee when no one pursues them, But the righteous are as bold as a lion. [Lev 26:17, 36; Ps 53:5]”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭28‬:‭1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Our movement for today is the Gloria Warm Up - Stretching exercise to target core and improve flexibility whilst declaring the identity of our Trinitarian God in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One God Three in One.

Reflection & Prayer:

Are you facing a time of trial or struggle in your life? Have you in the past faced obstacles or challenges which seem impossible to overcome? Well, today’s Proverb teaches us this is very much a normal reality. That the World would rather see you stay in turmoil and pain than rise up and overcome difficulty. The righteous must be as bold as a lion. However, the Psalmist encourages us that it is possible to be an overcomer, a person of good courage and a sound mind.

In response to times of trial the author of today’s Proverb responds “the righteous are as bold as a lion.” Instead of wallowing in self pity or being held back by the situation the author of today’s scripture places their trust in the Lord. It reminds me of my favorite memory verse from the Psalms 13:5 “But I trust in your unfailing love, my heart rejoices in your salvation”. Today we can be confident, today we can turn back to God and be assured that through Gods strength we can overcome all things.

The thought of Trusting in the Lord resonates with us all and declares in confidence “be as Bold as a Lion!” The God of the Angel Armies, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of all creation and the God of overcoming all our obstacles in with you all will help you overcome all things in Jesus name. Amen

Let Us Pray…

Father God we thank you that you have overcome all our obstacles ahead of time, that before we have seen what is before us you have taken away the problem, solved it and seen us come through. We pray today Lord you would give us the confidence to trust you in all things and that with you all things are possible in Jesus name. Amen.

“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”

‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬
