“But be glad and rejoice forever over what I create; Behold, I am creating Jerusalem to be a source of rejoicing And her people a joy. “I will also rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people; And there will no longer be heard in her The voice of weeping and the sound of crying.”
Isaiah 65:18-19 AMP
““For all these things My hand has made, So all these things came into being [by and for Me],” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look [graciously], To him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands. [John 4:24]”
Isaiah 66:2 AMP
Full Reflection: This morning I became aware that there was a Tornado warning, torrential downpours and over forty flights had been cancelled out of Charlotte Airport.
After planning an Ash Wednesday Outreach to take place in Rock Hill I had to last minute make arrangements to relocate to our local Light Rail stop and bus shelter. We made a clear stop and planted ourselves under the shelter with other commuters on their way to work this morning.
Photo: Ash Wednesday Outreach in the Rain

As the rain continued to fall I soon realized my Ashes would become more like Ash drops, rather than physical symbols of our souls dying to self and went on a coffee distribution with bananas to peoples cars. I managed to chat, connect and pray with over twenty people whilst giving out coffee, breakfast and ashes to bus drivers! It was a surreal and extremely soaking wet experience!
Photo: Soaked through just ten minutes after the first picture was taken.

After this experience I would travel to the Charlotte Airport for my airport shift where we were able to minister to over fifty people in a one hour and a half period with Ashes to go.
We built relationships with staff members, held hands in prayer and welcomed guests from all over the world into our small little Chapel for prayer and their Ashes to Ashes moment. It is indeed from dust that we came and to dust we shall return!
