Summer with the Psalms

Psalm 41 Thursday 11th July

“Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. “O Lord,” I prayed, “have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you.” But my enemies say nothing but evil about me. “How soon will he die and be forgotten?” they ask. They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere. All who hate me whisper about me, imagining the worst. “He has some fatal disease,” they say. “He will never get out of that bed!” Even my best friend, the one I trusted completely, the one who shared my food, has turned against me. Lord, have mercy on me. Make me well again, so I can pay them back! I know you are pleased with me, for you have not let my enemies triumph over me. You have preserved my life because I am innocent; you have brought me into your presence forever. Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41‬:‭1‬-‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection on Psalm

When we dessert God he does not leave us all alone. No! He comes even closer seeking to protect, nurture and loves us back to Him. What we can’t see when we are blinded by doubt, despair and destruction is Gods amazing hand upon our lives securing our safety and preserving our lives.

The Psalmist for today is facing some issues many of us have faced in the past, present or will do in the future. Jesus wants to develop a platform for you to speak about His love for you in testimony to His care for your life. The healing, help and health with Jesus can be the open door in your life which leads others back to the Lord God Almighty.

Today we can be loud, literal and learning through the Love our Lord has for us. Jesus wants to save all of us, so much so that he wants to include everyone of us and use us to help others in the process. Let’s speak boldly, courageously and securely about Gods work in our lives as a living sacrifice to Him!

Prayer

Father God thank you for saving me, for loving me and healing me from myself, enemies and even those I Love. Help me to not be quiet about your love for me and to share it with others whom you also love in Jesus name. Amen

“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
