Summer with the Psalms
Thursday 13th June 1024
“O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall. But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.”
Psalms 13:1-6 NLT
Pastor Tim’s Reflection & Prayer
When we are not yet born there is a phrase which is given before we are welcomed, accepted or presented to the world and can be confusing. Here now, but not yet. That is why it is infinitely more important to call upon the Holy Spirit when we are waiting, when we are seeking and asking for God to show up in our lives.
Once he Has heard, seen and known we have waited upon the Lord he knows we need Him and have faith. Then we can truly, and only truly then, can we begin spiritually and emotionally begin opening up to Him. As Humans our patient is limited, but as God His patience is unlimited!
Then, and only once we have fully surrendered, can we have the opportunity to make what was wrong right and our actions that have become SIN become no more and made FORGIVENESS!In essence, we simply can’t wait and complain and tell our Mother or Father aware of what wrong and what is next, but we can’t-tell our God who is the author of the world what is next and what is to come. He planned it and He made it!
We can pray today for what our needs are and as we don’t know what is next, we can leave the door open and explore healing opportunities across our Churches, our communities and all our world as God moves and has his being in our world again today.
Let us praise, let us pause and let us process everything going on from a position of authority, given to us by God to preach the Good News.
Where ever you are today; happy Thursday! Let’s not be down on our selves and let’s instead be up on Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
Prayer
Father God help us to handle ourselves in better ways. To love, to pray, to pause and to not panic in every eventuality. Instead help us to become more like you and more in step with your Holy Spirit. Please help us and make us whole in Jesus name. Amen
“So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:26 NLT
