“Help, O Lord, for the godly are fast disappearing! The faithful have vanished from the earth! Neighbors lie to each other, speaking with flattering lips and deceitful hearts. May the Lord cut off their flattering lips and silence their boastful tongues. They say, “We will lie to our hearts’ content. Our lips are our own—who can stop us?” The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.” The Lord’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over. Therefore, Lord, we know you will protect the oppressed, preserving them forever from this lying generation, even though the wicked strut about, and evil is praised throughout the land.”

Pastor Tim’s Reflection

Humanity can not stop sinning. Even when Jesus was here on earth we had to crucify Him. It’s possible that we maybe our own worst enemy. Perhaps we need to pause, to pray and to not remain silent when people insist on blaming you, naming you as the culprit and all when they are most likely to be the very person of being guilty. Gaslighting. Blaming. Same Sin. All of it. Same Sin. We need Jesus Right Now!

We have to reject blame. We have to reject fear. We have to reject shame. We have to reject abuse. We have to reject scandal. We have to reject ourselves and we have to reject hate. We have to choose loving our Neighbour as ourselves and remember that Gods is our first love because He first loved us!

Let us again decide to pick up our Cross and follow Jesus. Not in a religious or obligated way, but in a genuine pursuit of having more of a closer relationship with Christ. So that we can truly truly surrender our lives to the one who saves. Thank you Jesus for forgiving us!

Prayer

Father help us to always, everywhere and anywhere remember your Sons sacrifice on the Cross. Please O Lord travel alongside us, behind us and with us this summer and help us to always to return back to you in Jesus name. Amen.
