Lyrics
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given,
and the government shall be upon His shoulder;
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor,
the Mighty God,
the Everlasting Father,

He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.
Unto us a child is born.
Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Unto us a child is born.
Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrow, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;

The punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Reason
Christ was born. At Christmas and Easter we celebrate the Birth, Death & Resurrection of Jesus. Handle’s Messiah Message Helps us to remember the Christmas & Easter story, why Jesus was born and who he is. The Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. Each characteristic is symbolic and broken down for us. The Reason is Clear. Romans 6:23 reads for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Tradition
Originally intended for the Easter season, it is interesting that Handel’s Messiah has become known as a Christmas tradition. In all corners of the world the Handle’s Messiah message is proclaimed by symphony orhesatra’s at Christmas and like most Christmas Carols can also be heard in the unlikely venues of coffee shops, superstores and retail outlets. Its not Christmas if Handle’s Messiah is not being played.
Experience
For Today’s workout we will be completing four parts with reference to Christ as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.
